Heavy Duty
Horizontal Lathe (DL & DM Series) – SCHIESS BRIGHTON
offers the new DL & DM Series series horizontal lathe machines, which have been
improved significantly from the previous models to incorporate the
latest state-of-the-art technology. The most significant improvement
of the new models is the CNC controlled double drive system, which
would allow the faceplate becomes a fully controlled C-axis for milling and other operations. Thus, the new
DL & DM Series horizontal
lathes are configurable as turning, milling, grinding, drilling and
deep hole boring machining centers. The DL & DM Series lathes are with the maximum manufacturing capacities of 7 meter (23’) in swing; 30
meter in length (98’); and 500 ton weight support between centers.

DL Series Heavy Duty Lathe Features
The DL series of
horizontal lathes are designed based upon the traditional
structure of the machines. The Major features pf the machines are:
(1) Machines is driven by a single main motor; (2) The main
headstock of the machines can be equipped either by hydrostatic or
mechanical bearings.

DM Series Heavy Duty Lathe Features
On the other hand,
the DM series of horizontal lathes are adapted the latest
manufacturing technology of the machine tool industry by applying
the multiple servo-motors to the headstock of the machines; in
such way, the face-plate can function as a fully integrated
C-axis. Again, the main headstock of the machines can be equipped either
by hydrostatic or mechanical bearings.

DL & DM Series of horizontal lathe
are sharing the following common features:
These features are achieved by the wide range of lathes, which embody the most recent
developments in the field of production engineering and machine tool design:
-
Uniform design principles and common elements on CNC controlled machines.
-
Main spindle bearing system.
-
Individual servo drives for feed
axes.
-
Short, playfree feed transmissions.
-
Wear-resistant, fully hydrostatic guideways.
-
